Interestingly Ijesas are one of the most exposed nation in Nigeria, a people whose history date back to the 11th century. The Ijesas are resourceful and industrious, these account for their spread to every part of the globe.

In the last five years, a group of young and dynamic Ijesa sons and daughter under the visionary leadership of Mr Sunday Adewusi, a firm believer in Ijesa who is based in the United Kingdom. Have set aside a day to bring together all sons and daughters of Ijesa to decide the next stage of development to put forward

THIS YEAR IJESA DAY CELEBRATION IN LAGOS WILL WITNESS PRESENTATION OF
AWARDS TO DESERVING IJESA PEOPLE AMONG OTHER ACTIVITIES..

Sequel to couple of successful celebrations of ljesa Day which started in London in 2009 and birthed in Lagos in 2015 for its maiden edition,now 5th edition, ljesa Day Celebration, a voluntary organisation is partnering with ljesa News as the main partner and other Ijesa clubs and societies. Corporate partners among which are the BOSS, 247 Media, Feferity media group UK, City people and IBPlc Ilesa are powering this year edition of ljesa Day lin LAGOS.

Some of the awardees will includes..Engr Dideolu Falobi,Bobajiro of ilesa,Engr.Kehinde Fadahunsi, The president of council of ljesa Societies in lagos,Chief Olu Falomo,Chief Tayo Ogedengbe, president of Ogedengbe descendant foundation, Otunba Toyin Omonijo,president, of ljesa lndigines, Baba Aladura G.O Fakeye and Moses Olaiya Adejumo who got posthumous awards among other notable ijesa people

The event is coming up on Sunday, October 27th, 2019 @ HARDUNNI BANQUETING BEHIND SHERATON HOTEL,OPEBI,.

The event celebrates the cultural values of ljesa people. It has always been a gathering of \”who is who\” in Ijesaland and Nigeria as a whole Friends,sons and daughters dine and wine annually which makes the yearly event a talk of the town,reunion and parley that give attendees resounding experiences.

Missing this largest convergence of Ijesa by any son or daughter in Lagos and its environs would not be encouraging.

Mr Sunday Adewusi,the publisher of ljesaNews and the Coordinator of this yearly event and the Chairperson of ljesa Day in LAGOS, Princess Toyin Kolade, lyalaje of the Source said they have realised that the event has made great impacts and impression on ljesa people living outside the shore of ljesaland to be more active in the Community Development. The event has caused a lot of the natives to give back to the land thus aids development.
