Another fuel tanker bursts into flames in Onitsha

A fuel tanker has gone up in flames at Omagba area of Onitsha, about 48 hours after a fire incident in another part of the town.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire began at 3 am on Friday along Onitsha-Enugu expressway opposite Besoy filling station.

Vehicles and houses are alleged to have been razed.

Reports on social media say that the fire has been put out and that there is no report of human casualties.

The latest incident comes two days after three persons were killed, including a mother and her child, when a fuel tanker fell and went up in flames at MCC Bus stop near Toronto Hospital, Upper-Iweka, Onitsha.

Many houses along Iweka Road were burnt, some parts of Ochanja Market were affected while about six houses and vehicles were razed.
