A shinning star to watch out for in terms of timely delivery, focus on the mandate given and a high sense of duty to mention few.

One thing caught my attention since his appointment as the honourable Commissioner for Works and Transport is what I call unusual sense of duty far from what we used to have around in Oyo State.

My team and I were in the state Some days ago and from the feelers we received he did not only take it upon himself to go round the state to ascertain the true state of roads where some would rather settle for what the paper handed over to them says, but this enigma ensures that in everyday he justifies his oath of allegiance to the state on the office he oversees.

Report have it that he and his team weeks ago in the rain along Ojoo-Moniya road instead of getting into their cars for the rain to at least subside, continued inspection with more of a seemingly satisfactory smile on his face.

And as if that was not enough, days ago on Apete-Akufo road was another of such encounter with the same conduct and I came to a conclusion that he would be one of the best Commissioners in the country if that tempo doesn’t go down.

But as they say that time tells more of man than words, I am certain beyond doubt that the magic wand of Prof Raphael Afonja will soon be fully felt allover Oyo state’s poor roads to bring it back into shape.
